In Our Prime is a slice of life Korean drama, which tells a beautiful story of friendship between a student and “Hak Sung” (played by “Choi Min Sik”) a North Korean defector, working as janitor, but he actually is a mathematical genius. The film is a Korean version of “Good Will Hunting” that shows us beauty of maths, relationships, and it’s a beautiful slice of life drama, that you should definitely watch if you are looking for a calming experience.
It’s a simple underrated film that you should definitely give a try.

Cold Eyes is a thrilling cop action film that tells the story of a surveillance team filled with skilled officers who with the help of technology and information try to stop elite criminals, criminals who are far more meticulous and dangerous than your normal thugs. Their prime target is James, a criminal mastermind who runs a gang of robbers.
Cold Eyes is a gripping crime thriller filled with cat and mouse games, where both the cops and the criminal try to outsmart each other. Its filled with action, suspense and drama, making it an interesting crime film, that you should definitely give a try.
The Age Of Shadows
The Age Of Shadows is a brilliant action drama set during Japan’s colonial rule in Korea, and follows the story of resistance army of Korea and how they fight back against Japan’s Colonial rule. Directed by the master Kim Jee-Woon, this film has great cast of Song Kang Ho, Lee Byung Hun, Gong Yo, its packed with lots of drama, action thrilling moments, enough to keep you hooked, and enough to make you root for the the Korean resistance. Overall It’s a story about fighting for freedom and trust me it was a beautiful experience while watching the film.
Bedeviled
Bedevilled is a brutal story about abuse and revenge, the story focuses on two childhood friends, one lives in the city while the other (Bok Nam) lives on an island, facing abuse from her husband and in-laws. Bedevilled is a kind of movie that will enrage you, keep you on your edge, make you feel for the characters, and would show you, what happens when you push a human to her absolute limits.
The brutal and filled with violence and with enough emotions to keep you hooked throughout the film. If you are an avid Korean cinema lover and you have not seen this underrated gem yet, then do it give it a watch!
The Villainess
The Villainessis an action-packed movie, that tells the story of a woman who has been trained to become a deadly assassin, working for an agency and doing their dirty work, but her life takes a very dramatic turn when her past comes back to her, turning her into a bloodthirsty beast, hunting down all her foes as revenge.
The Villainess is an out-and-out bloody action film, with some amazing camera work, and hand-to-hand combats, the film surprisingly is not very well known among Western audiences, but trust it’s a really good action film with enough drama to keep you hooked.
Forgotten
Forgotten is one of those mystery films that took me by surprise. It tells the story of a family who recently moved to a new house, this family consists of 4 members two brothers and their parents. Everything seemed ok, until one night their elder son gets kidnapped, which throws the family in panic, but to their surprise, he returns back to the family after a couple of days and starts behaving strangely, which makes their younger son suspicious of his brother. But what follows next is a brilliantly written mystery, suspense, and thriller, that will keep you guessing till the end of the film.
Midnight Runners
Midnight Runners is one of those films that actually caught me off guard in terms of entertainment value, It completely nailed it in terms of entertainment quotient. Midnight Runners is a buddy cop action film that tells the story of two aspiring police candidates who become friends in the police training camp, learning everything they can to graduate as a cop, but what didn’t expect was coming across a gang that runs a deadly business, and now its upto them both to stop the gang and save the day.
Midnight Runners is a delicious film, filled with comedy, well-choreographed action sequences, and suspense.
New World
New World is a brilliant crime film that mostly revolves around Korea’s mafia organizations, how they function and their loyalties to their organization. The movie mainly focuses on Ja Seoung (played by Lee Jung Jae, the actor from Squid Game) who is now working inside the syndicate as an undercover cop, playing on both sides as good and evil. But how log will he last in this world of the underworld, this is the basic premise of New World.
The movie is a brilliant depiction of how crime movies should be, it’s filled with lots of drama, emotions, and some action making it an underrated gem, that everyone should watch.
The Tiger An Old Hunter’s Tale
The Tiger An Old Hunter’s Tale is a beautiful and dramatic story of an old tiger hunter played by Choi Min Sik, who is stuck in his past, where he killed a tiger family, but leaves only the cub. The drama in the story grows as the last cub grows and becomes a legendary tiger whom the Japanese forces want dead. Will our hero take up the contract of hunting down the legendary tiger? Will he be able to do it? Forms the rest of the story.
In my eyes, The Tiger An Old Hunter’s Tale is an absolutely underrated gem from Korean cinema, in the way it depicts humans & tigers and the philosophical question it raises. In my eyes it’s a must watch for everyone who loves good drama in a film.
Hope
Hope is truly one of the most emotional Korean movies that I have ever seen. It tells the story of a young girl who gets assaulted and the heartbreaking aftermath that their parents have to go through, it’s a truly emotional film, that also depicts the bond of family, human resilience and hope. It’s an emotional gem, truly underrated, and a must watch for whoever likes emotionally dramatic movies.
